Surfing Dunaverty Bay: Surf Spot Guide
This spot isn’t very consistent at all. Its position in western Scotland, on the south coast of the Kintyre peninsula, shelters it from Atlantic groundswells. It’s more open to south westerly Irish Sea windswells than anything else. Best bet is to check out the spots north west of here, unless you’re looking for shelter. Unlikely to be busy. The area has character and history, having played a significant part in the Wars of the 3 kingdoms, with the Battle of Dunaverty.

There’s a caravan park at the head of the bay, camping and guest rooms at Southend, which is walking distance to Dunaverty. Roughly within a ten to twenty mile radius there are plenty of other types of accommodation, from luxury hotels and BnB’s to camping.
