Surfboards.....What Does What??

Most of the time, when making boards for customers, I get asked.... What does this do? What will that do? And to be honest, most of the time, when asking a shaper, you get the right answer.  There are the times when you will ask someone who isn't necessarily wrong, but could lead you down the wrong path of what you want on your next surfboard.

From experience, not just as a shaper, but someone who loves riding boards other than my own, speaking to shapers is by far the best thing you can do when it comes to knowing what does what. I even find myself asking shapers I work with and know from other companies, 'What does this do?' 'What does that do?' 'What happends if this is changed?' It just helps that little bit more when it comes to understanding other people's boards. As a surfer however, if you have no or little knowledge about boards, and are looking to by a new weapon of choice, ask a shaper.  It's by far the best thing you can do! There are plenty of them around and they are all willing to help! However, there are those times when the shaper's you want to ask have all disappeared to go and find that little bit of swell that has popped up, or they're half way around the world enjoying the pleasures of warmer climates.... Which brings me back to the point of this blog post...

So... over the course of these posts, which I will update and add to every week, I will go into detail about board designs and what aspects can effect riding certain waves, boards and levels of surfing, and instead of having to scroll through endless web pages, which im pretty sure everyone has done looking for that tiny bit of info, everything you need to know will be in one area.

Or if you're skint, just copy and paste one of the images below onto your Valentine's Facebook page. If that doesn't do the trick, they clearly have no feelings. Click on any image to view it in the shop.   ...
