How to make a surfboard chair

First up, remove that crusty old surfboard from wherever it's been hiding for the last ten years.

Good places to look include the back of the shed, underneath a caravan and inside a hedge. Reminisce about the good times you had on it when you were 14.

Clean crap from board

Cut board in half with a jigsaw.

Note: It's okay at this point to openly cry and whisper "I'm so sorry".

Cut a rectangular section out of one half of the board.

About two fifths of the way up and half way in. Match width to the thickness of the board. Do not, under any circumstances, cut into the stringer.

Do the same for the other half, but on the opposite side.

Treat the exposed polyeurethane with resin and/or fibreglass.

Slot them together so the whole thing sits up like this.

Sit on it really cautiously for the first time because you don't honestly believe it can take the weight of a fully grown person, even though it totally can.

And relax.

  • Surfing Valentine's Cards ~ Now you can actually buy them!

Surfers are sweet. Sometimes salty, but mostly sweet. And to prove it here are some surfing-themed Valentine's cards. You can buy them from our Zazzle shop. Or if you're skint, just copy and paste one of the images below onto your Valentine's Facebook page. If that doesn't do the trick, they clearly have no feelings. Click on any image to view it in the shop.   ...
